- To promote processing and packaging and marketing of quality livestock commodities
- To coordinate livestock product promotion and marketing.
- To facilitate Livestock market infrastructure development
- Promote marketing of non conversional products like wool, feather etc.
- To facilitate formation of livestock farmers cooperatives and associations for promotion of livestock marketing
- Link with Ministry of Industry, Trade and Marketing
