The section perform the following activities: - Formulate, review and update training policies, rules and regulations
- To evaluate the training programs offered by LIT is and review curricula to meet client demands
- To facilitate short and long term training for livestock extension staff, researchers and trainers
- To organize and conduct long and short courses for livestock keepers
- To organize and conduct long and short courses on profitable livestock farming for youths
- To develop training programs that will address special needs
- Strengthen the capacity of the 6 LITis to provide demand driven training through rehabilitation and retooling
- To strengthen curriculum inspection and supervision for quality assurance of the training programs.
- To develop competence based instructional materials for use by LITis, extension staff, farmers and other stakeholders
- To strengthen linkages between extension - research - training and liaise with national, regional and international institutions
- Management and administration of six Livestock Training Institutes
