TVA Scientific Conference 2011

ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE 29TH TANZANIA VETERINARY ASSOCIATION SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

The Tanzania Veterinary Association (TVA) will hold its 29th Annual Scientific Conference from 6th to 8th December 2011 in Arusha. The TVA annual scientific conferences usually attract researchers and practitioners in various fields including animal health and livestock production, public health, wildlife, community development and other stakeholders in these and related sectors.  The 2011 has been declared World Veterinary Year because the veterinary profession worldwide will mark the 250th Anniversary of the Veterinary Profession and Veterinary Training.

Theme of The Conference:
250 YEARS OF THE VETERINARY PROFESSION: CONTRIBUTION TO IMPROVEMENT OF ANIMAL AND HUMAN HEALTH

Sub-themes of the conference will focus on the role of the veterinary and allied professions in:
• Reducing Global Hunger
• Controlling Zoonoses
• Monitoring Food Quality and Safety
• Biomedical Research
• Protecting the Environment and Biodiversity.

The Tanzania Veterinary Association invites those who wish to present papers during the Conference to submit high quality research papers and/or papers based on field experiences related to the above theme and sub-themes.

Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should include a title of up to 120 characters (including spaces), the authors' full names and affiliations, and the text body. Full papers that are to appear in the Conference Proceedings typed in double spaces should not exceed 15 pages excluding figures, tables and references. Abstracts and full papers should be prepared in Microsoft Word format, 12-font size of Times New Romans in UK English. Posters should be 1.5 m wide and 1.2 m high.

Abstract should reach the Chairman of Scientific Committee not later than 15th September 2011.
Full papers should reach the Chairman of Scientific Committee not later than 30th October 2011.
Font of PowerPoint slides for presentation during the conference should NOT be less than 26.
